3 Staging Secrets for Selling in Spring!
As home stagers, we’re offering our top 3 tips to make your house sell-ready, based on what we’ve seen attracts the most buyers and gets the top prices:
Purge and de-clutter. This is a tough one, we know. But now is the time to donate those clothes you never wear or to sell any furniture or decorative items that may not be worthy of moving. By purging and de-cluttering, you will free up space in your closets and cupboards, in your rooms, and on your counters and shelves, which will help with tips #2 and #3. On the bright side, your moving costs will be cheaper 😀.
Neutralize. Your goal when you’re selling is to showcase the best parts of your house – maybe it’s the original wood trim or the spacious family room. To do this, you want to make sure wall colours, finishings and furniture aren’t distracting. Now’s a good time to paint your walls and cupboards a neutral colour and to remove any ornate features, extra furniture, or bold decor items to help your home’s features shine.
De-personalize. Because buyers want to picture themselves in a home, it’s best to tuck away family pictures, personal mementos and keepsakes that are meaningful only to you.
We know we said 3 tips, but there’s one more piece of advice we can’t help but offer…
